Looking for a ride down easy street On a coattail, take me off my feet I didn’t have a dime, but I knew how to have a good time And I’d call you but you were still, going out going downhill Isn’t life a drag when you’re riches to rags Yeah Looking for a ride won’t ya pick me up Take me out get me all shook up Funny how time flies, in the middle of the night Ya threw it away for a joke, maybe someday you’ll have a hope I pity you and you’re riches to rags Throw it out I can still remember you, all the stupid things you used to do It’s just a memory that was way before my time And I’d call you but you were still going out, going downhill Isn’t a life a drag when you’re riches to rags, driving bitches to fags, sold your guitars for bags Throw it out

A dreamers just a dreamer, until they become believers A lover or a hater, taker or receiver Sitting thinking waiting all your life, why not start now? What are you waiting for? You got the power and the desire, all you lack is confidence Go out and take a chance Life’s too short, but it hasn’t started yet Why count the years? Stuck on your teenage tears I’ve got to find, a way to end this pain I can’t go on, like this another goddamn day Sitting thinking, waiting all your life Why not start now, what are you waiting for Preacher or a sinner, richer or poorer fucked up or sober, even a beginner I’ve got to find a way to end this pain I can’t go on like this another goddamn day You’ve got the power and the desire All you lack is confidence, go out and take a chance I’ve got to find a way to end this pain I can’t go on like this another goddamn day

Imagination 03:03
Well I was standing at the edge of dawn I knew you’d come along I didn’t have to say a word You already knew Honey is it my imagination All these things that they say you did Well I don’t care about your reputation I’m in love and girl it’s you alright The rumors spreading round ever since you’ve been back in town Well I’m tied to the tracks can’t get back They said you’re bad news Driving that ship of fools Well I guess it’s sink or swim now And I’m jumping in The rumors spreading round ever since you’ve been back in town Well I’m tied to the tracks can’t get back Honey is it my imagination All these things that they say you did Well I don’t care about your reputation I don’t really care about you And honey is it my imagination are you singing out of key Well honey well if it’s true, is it me or is it you?

Guilty 03:09
I don’t know what you’re trying to say Everything you’re saying sounds the same I was 21 you were 17, I never subscribed to Spin Magazine Guilty the rest of my life You know what it takes to get by I don’t know what the hell you’re trying to prove Nothing I do seems to satisfy you Come on girl won’t you hear me out? I do t wanna scream and I don’t want to shout

100 Ways 04:18
I’ve been living on the rocks Hard knocks and dirty socks Ever since our last dance there’s been a hundred one night stands Oh God I might die trying In the end I might find a hundred way to live without you.. in my life I’ve been living in a haze, the years pass by without a trace.. oh why They say that love is blind, you struck me between the eyes Oh God I might die trying In the end I might find a hundred way to live without you.. in my life

Gone 02:20
Haven’t seen you in a couple days When I do don’t have much to say When I see you I just wanna look away Too afraid to look in your eyes or ask you what went wrong But the silence tells me that might not last that long You might be here today where will you be tomorrow? Gone Gone going on Gone Gone away If I close my eyes I can hear your footsteps walking away I don’t know why I need you in this way You smile and you wink at me tell me everything you want to be But who’s gonna be there to catch me when I fall?
7.
Tonight 03:14
Can’t get high without falling down Can’t sustain I don’t want hit the ground It used to be so easy to do, everything kept fallin through Hell Tonight - I don’t care I ain’t going anywhere Tonight - I might walk away I can’t even think straight If you won’t I will, take a drink now take pill You used to follow me on my heals Tonight tonight you better make a deal Hell Tonight - I don’t care I ain’t going anywhere Tonight - I might walk away I can’t even think straight I know what it’s like to have nothing I know what it’s like to have it all Hell Tonight - I don’t care I ain’t going anywhere Tonight - I might walk away I can’t even think straight

Happy Yet 02:25
Where were you when where are you now? Prolly sleeping on someone’s couch Where were your when I needed a friend You didn’t even pay the rent I’m not happy yet, I’m as happy as I’m gonna get Yours older than your years, cried too many tears no one even cares You sold my records for beer and now I can’t stand living here I just can’t avoid it I’m not happy yet, I’m as happy as I’m gonna get I’m so broken down, kicked by the clown Circus ain’t even in town Now everything I got is falling apart I see you at the liquor store it just breaks my heart And even though I try to forget about the past I can’t find my Kiss records I just got to laugh I’m not happy yet, I’m as happy as I’m gonna get

Poker Face 04:22
I’ve been watching you for hours Watching your eyes a glaze You stare at the table and you watch the cards fall down and I feel like I’m in a cage Sue come home, I’m all alone Why won’t you leave this place I need you to pull me through Take off your poker face And I made up my mind, I’m leaving you this time You got the fever but to you it’s just a game Don’t you see the players have all changed I know that it’s true you got a lot to prove I do t know what went wrong but I could see it all along And I’m sorry that I tried, sorry I made you cry I’ve been watching you for days Watching your eyes a glaze Poker chips they turn to towers you think I should be amazed?

Know It All 02:33
Always have the answers, never have a clue Act so responsible, tell me what to do You’re not my mother, get off my back Gonna go have some fun, give ya a heart attack I am only twenty-two, and I’m not asking you For you’re point of view You know it all Know it all See it all Always have the answers to questions no one wants to know Been to all the places no one ever goes Been around the world now, I was there too I don’t care who you are don’t care what you do
12.
Well I’m not dumb but I don’t know why First you made me laugh made me cry You say you love me then walk away Save it for another day I used to be as right as rain Rained on my parade I guess I learned to play it safe Learned from my mistakes I used to be so innocent You replaced it with bitterness Well maybe I gave you too much trust? Was it love or was it lust Well I don’t know what changed the tide Was it the things you kept inside? And I’m so lonely I can’t stand I wanna touch you with my hand Maybe you just need some time Let me know when you decide
13.
You’ve been waiting to long For something that’ll never come You’ve been diggin for gold Ain’t found none You’re hopes were high So were mine You let me down time after time Waiting too long for something never comes Waiting too long something never comes You’ve been waiting too long For something that never comes You’ve been praying too long Damage is done You’ve been around, up and down You’re minds as cloudy as the sky

about

Almost 30 years after it was recorded, a great long lost record album is seeing the light of day. Bleeding Hearts “Riches to Rags” is a remarkably solid collection of rock ’n’ roll songs featuring the guitar work of Bob Stinson, lead guitarist and founding member of the Replacements. Bob Mehr, who wrote the definitive Replacements biography Trouble Boys, describes Riches to Rags” as “the final piece to the puzzle of Bob Stinson’s musical career"

The album was recorded in Minneapolis in 1993. Bleeding Hearts was the brain child of Mike Leonard who befriended Bob Stinson at a particular low point in Bob’s life when they were both regulars at the Uptown Bar. They became roommates, and as Mehr details (Mike was) “exactly ten years younger than Stinson, The two played together daily, roughhoused like little kids, rehearsed with the band five times a week, and listened to music the rest of the time.”
The end result of all this activity was a tight well-crafted set of high energy rock tunes that owed a debt to the Replacements and showed once again what a stellar guitar player Bob Stinson was.

Unfortunately that hotbed of creativity caused clashes and when push came to shove Bob was out of the band right as the recordings were completed. The band carried on for a while without Bob but the momentum was gone. Mike disbanded the group and joined the popular Minneapolis outfit the Magnolias. Stinson would pass away two years later and the Bleeding Hearts recordings were left in the can.

Finally Bleeding Hearts will get their due, thanks to Fiasco Records holding on to the tapes all these years and Bar None shepherding it to completion. “The album is upbeat, catchy Minneapolis rock, with hooks galore and Bob's ever present bright chords shining through.
